Celebrate your strengths

Newsflash: You are not great at everything! Sorry to break the news. We all have different strengths. And knowing your dominant strength gives you information to exercise and build up, what you’re naturally good at. That’s the only way to stay focused.

Speaking of strengths, I’m a learner through and through. If there is a way to do something, I will figure it out. Yup nerd alert!

I was curious about my son’s strengths. He’s really creative, easily plays an instrument, has a beautiful voice, has a really creative mind, so we found out his dominant strength is futuristic. That means he has the potential to be visionary. But needs help with strategy & execution. He imagines really vivid stories, like a movie screen is playing in his mind.
So he wrote a fictional book to capture the world he imagined. And guys I was blown away by the whole new world, that this kid created.

As a family we got behind him. Daddy the technical genius, created the cover and did the layout. While I figured out all the steps he needed to put his work of art on Amazon.

So after lots of effort, he released his ebook on Saturday and I couldn’t be prouder. Yes this mama is on cloud 9.

Bottom line friends, I share this to encourage you to figure out what your dominant strength is (take the strengths finder test) and get some people around you to help in the areas where you are not necessarily the best.
I learned this song as a child growing up. Sometimes we need a reminder that we need each other.

SONG

No man is an Island

No man stands alone

Each man’s joy is joy for me

Each man’s grief is my own
We need one another

So I will defend

Each man as my brother

Each man as my friend

PRAYER

Lord we spend so much time trying to do & be everything. Reveal our strengths and help us to live in the power of that unique space. Where we are weak send the proper support to keep us along the path you have designed for us. Help the parents among us, to nurture the strengths of our children. Let us live your plan, for our lives, in Jesus name Amen!

  1. I am so proud of him and you guys for inspiring him. We all have great strengths but many of us do not know how to go about releasing it. And as you said we need people in our lives to help us along the way. I wish when I was much younger I knew the know-how to expand on it. You guys are a wonderful and caring family and I wish the best for you. Continue to be an inspiration to all. Congratulations again and I’m definitely going to support my baby boy. Big up young man, keep doing your thing.

  2. Teamwork. Family. Strength . Unity. Active Listening. Just some of my thoughts.
